Community Partner: 2016 Women Sports Film Festival

The inaugural Women Sports Film Festival takes place on July 28-30 at the New Parkway Theater in Oakland.  The festival celebrates female athletes and storytellers through documentary film. We will screen 17 documentary feature and short films about women and girls from four continents participating in eleven different sports over three days. The festival coincides with the run up to the opening ceremonies of the Summer Olympics in Rio, a time when awareness of women’s sports is at an all-time high.

In an effort to make the festival as accessible as possible, our Opening Night film, T-Rex: Her Fight for Gold, is free! Additionally, the festival is offering 10% off all tickets for the Bay Area Derby community. At checkout, enter the promo code: BAD.
