Oakland Local: Bay Area Derby Girls excite sport fans during Saturday bout in SF

The San Francisco Shevil Dead won the last Bay Area Derby Girls home bout at Fort Mason against the Berkeley Resistance, with a final score of 150-74.

The Shevil Dead took a big lead after half-time, but the Resistance didn’t give up without a fight.

The next B.A.D. Girls bout is away – Berkeley Resistance will play the Prison City Derby Dames in Prado, CA. The next home bout is a double header between all for B.A.D. Girls teams on May 12.

Oakland Local: Bay Area Derby Girls on a roll following kick off of 2012 season

The Bay Area Derby Girls recently kicked off its seventh season, delighting roller derby fans in Oakland and around the Bay.

And the B.A.D. ladies have some big plans for this year, one of which includes hosting the regional playoffs for West Coast division of Women’s Flat Track Derby Association at the end of the season. In the meantime, they are practicing hard, long hours every week.
