JOIN BAD AS A SKATER

Here are the ways to become a b.a.d. skater

BADDIES

Know how to skate safetly but want to develop your skills for roller derby? You can do our Baddies Program. We routinely do intake for Baddies- keep an eye out for our Join BAD Days.

HOW IT WORKS

When joining BAD, you will enter into an 8 week probationary period during which you must meet our attendance requirement. Whether you are a transfer, or enter into our Baddies program, you will be evaluated not just on skills. We want skaters who are committed, energized for the love of derby and work alongside our mission. Overall, have a great attitude towards the sport and the league.

When your evaluation period is over, you will be invited in as a league member and get access to the usage of our warehouse: indoor rink, skate park, gym usage whenever you want! (must have another person who is CPR certified). Once you have been accepted as a league member you will be placed in our BAD pool where you await to be drafted into one of our teams, either the Comets division (A/B) or the Quasars(B/C).

We host internal try-outs for the traveling team: BAD All Stars.

JOIN BAD AS AN OFFICIAL

So, you love roller derby and you want to help out, but would rather stay out of the fray? Consider becoming a referee or an NSO (Non-skating Official). You will still be part of the roller derby games, just without the hitting. Email us at officials@bayareaderby.com for more information.

JOINING BAD AS A VOLUNTEER

Want to help support amazing local athletes, grow a Bay Area non-profit and be part of a BADass community? Look into becoming a BAD Hand. You can be a part of the Bay Area Derby league without putting on skates.
